METTLER TOLEDO Process Analytics, a leading provider

of analytical measurement solutions, announces the

launch of the M400 2-wire, a series of transmitters for

liquid analytics and gas phase applications in the

chemical and chempharma industries. M400 2-wire

transmitters have global approvals for hazardous area

use, and combine multi-parameter measurement with

remote access to predictive sensor diagnostic tools over

HART communication protocol. The transmitter series

covers pH/ORP, dissolved oxygen, gas phase oxygen

and conductivity measurements.

METTLER TOLEDO has increased process reliability and

stability by integrating its proprietary Intelligent Sensor

Management (ISM) concept into the transmitter. ISM is

a digital sensor technology that simplifies sensor maintenance and handling, and reduces sensor

lifecycle costs. Central to the benefits of ISM is the availability of predictive sensor diagnostic tools.

These enable operators to easily determine any sensor maintenance required in advance of

performance being affected.

The possibility of remote access to sensor diagnostics over HART or the transmitter's second analog

output increases the communication capability and helps to avoid unplanned shutdowns. This leads

to improved productivity and a reduction in operating costs. In addition, the M400 2-wire series

includes a mixed-mode input for connection of either conventional analog sensors or METTLER

TOLEDO's digital ISM sensors. "The mixed-mode input offers a unique and smooth technology

transition from analog to digital sensors and provides a future oriented investment in the plant," says

Jürgen Illerhaus, head of product management at METTLER TOLEDO Process Analytics. "In

combination with the M400 2-wire series many other features it means the transmitter provides

operating assurance even in the most challenging conditions."
