Flexmount Weigh Modules
Flexmount weigh modules are designed for static loading applications such as tanks,
hoppers, and vessels. Typically, the only force that needs to be considered is the weight
of the tank and its contents (the vertical force pressing down on the top plate of the
weigh module). Each weigh module has five basic components, which are shown in
Figure 6-1.

Base Plate: This bottom plate is bolted or welded to the floor, foundation, or other
support structure to hold the weigh module in place.
Load Cell: This transducer uses a strain gauge to convert the mechanical force exerted
by the weight of a tank into an electric signal that provides a weight reading on an
indicator. The cantilever-beam load cell is bolted to the weigh module’s base plate.
